A few years ago, while cutting back brambles to make way for additional horse pasture, Ricky, the manager of a Thoroughbred horse farm in Kent County, discovered an underground bunker. What he unearthed looked to be a cement pad, containing two circular manholes. After removing one of the lids, he lowered a ladder, climbed  into the darkness, and found himself standing at the far end of a sizable room. The gravel floor was littered with heaps of bottles, jars, and boots. With the intention of returning at a later date, he closed the heavy metal covering and fenced in the area. It would be years before the hidden bunker would see daylight again.

In 2017, having sparked my curiosity, Ricky removed the medal lid for the second time, and was surprised to find that the room was not as he had previously left it. Apparently, the seal around the opening had rusted, allowing 4-5 feet of water to seep into the chamber.

On November 16th of 2017, after Ricky having spent two days pumping out the water, I climbed down the ladder to investigate. After assessing the mucky condition of the floor, I decided to leave the equipment above ground, taking only a digital recorder. Dana remained above, operating the Ovilus V and assisting me when needed.

Against the far wall were heaps of debris, covered with sludge. Bottles and old boots floated in puddles of water. I had been told that the property had once been part of the Underground Railroad, but the items I collected didn't appear to date back that far. That’s not to say that there aren't other artifacts buried deeper under the rubble and debris. Until we dive further into the history of the property the purpose of the bunker will continue to remain a mystery.

We did capture a few EVPs, though many were disregarded due to the wind. However, the following words came up on our Ovilus V while Dana was operating it above ground – orb, cannon, communicate, fate, poverty, island, tub, farmers, slave, creek, nail, beware, pray, Sacra Res, July, foreign, drown, master, synn, remote, nation, hurt, writing, and valley. We found it intriguing that the words slave and master both came up on the Ovilus. And yes, the property is located on a creek.

EVPs

NOTE: Shortly after I entered the bunker the wind kicked up, making it difficult to understand what EVPs we did capture.
